Bald Eagle School District
Bald Eagle is a midsized, suburban/rural public school district. Geographically, their school district is the largest in the state, but due to the sparsely populated rural area, it's graduation class is only around 110 each year. There are 4 elementary schools, a Cyber Academy, and a combined junior-senior high school. Their colors are blue and gold and their mascot is the Eagles. The school district draws from the surrounding towns of Port Matilda, Julian, Unionville, Milesburg, Howard, and Snow Shoe.
The communities in Bald Eagle are small and have a history that dates back to railroads and mining. Bald Eagle was originally a stop on the Pennsylvania Railroad Tyrone Division. The area has a spacious and private environment, with homes sparsely populating the forested mountains and extensive farmland.
The Valley is also home to the 5,900-acre Bald Eagle State Park. With a 1,730-acre lake, two campgrounds, the Nature Inn, and surrounding wetlands, forests, fields, and mountains, the area provides access to outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, and wildlife watching.
